200 employees, 4 businesses, and 15,000 trees… Members of Treescape’s Environmental Crew were thrilled to spend the day at Manurewa’s Totara Park recently, planting trees as part of business partner Vector’s Urban Forest promise initiative.

We were thrilled to spend the day planting trees at Manurewa’s Totara Park recently. Treescape has a dedicated Environmental Crew that specialises in planting and restoration – including large landscape projects in parks, reserves and wetlands – so they’re always keen to lend a hand where they can.

As part of our partnership with Vector and Auckland Council, our Treescape crew joined around 200 employees from Vector, Northpower, and Electrix to plant approximately 15,000 natives at the headwaters of the Puhinui Stream.

The planting day was organised by Vector as part of their Urban Forest promise where they plant two native seedlings for each dangerous or obstructive tree removed to protect people and the power network. This year, the planting contributes towards Mayor Phil Goff’s Million Trees pledge.

It was our pleasure to be a part of a community-minded project that will positively impact future generations.
