Maree Favel, Commercial Contracts Coordinator

Treescape wouldn’t be the business it is without our amazing team so we’d like to introduce you to some of them! Today, it’s Maree Favel’s turn – she’s a Commercial Contracts Coordinator at our Wacol office in Brisbane.

How many years have you worked at Treescape?

Four. I got very lucky and managed to get my foot in the door to cover someone’s maternity leave, and then I was offered fulltime employment. Prior to Treescape, my background was admin in mining, construction and roofing.

Tell us about your work highlights…

I enjoy being able to watch large projects grow from start to finish and have input along the way with clients, field crew and management. And I always find the crane jobs interesting to watch, with the climbers riding the hook to for safe removals in sensitive areas or works over powerlines.

Run us through what a normal day looks like for you…

I start in a quiet office at 6am, assisting field crew with any PPE or urgent queries. My day is filled with many admin tasks, client liaison, mulch enquiries, site visits… Each day brings something new, whether it’s a new task or a new project to help coordinate.

What do you do outside of work?

My “go to’s” are the gym, netball and ballet. Above all else, hanging with my wee family is always top priority.

What’s your favourite place in Australia to visit and why?

I haven’t visited many places but I would have to choose Hamilton Island. Despite being expensive, it is definitely well worth it! Beautiful landscapes, peaceful surrounds and plenty of fun activities to do if you don’t wish to laze about in the water or lounge on the sandy beaches.
