Work outside in nature on some behind-the-scenes ecological plant and animal management projects which make a real difference to Tamaki Makaurau’s natural environment. You’ll need to be fit, and love the outdoors, as you will be working in small teams in some challenging environments spanning across Auckland and Waiheke Island. There is lots of equipment to play with, so having experience with small equipment, 4W driving, agrichemical handling, and drones would be advantageous.

A typical week will include
So much variety! On any given day, you may find yourself controlling pest plants on a Council reserve, revegetation planting in one of our many parks or forests, laying bait or monitoring for pest animals, amenity planting and maintenance, or maintaining reserves using a variety of techniques. An early start means an early knockoff, and you will have the support of our in-house training team and experienced managers as you grow your career.
