Treescape id looking for energetic, motivated individuals to join our Traffic Management division working out of our Kumeu and Otahuhu bases. You will join a friendly and skilled crew that takes pride in their work.

As a Treescape Traffic Controller / Traffic Management Operative you will assist with our various projects across the greater Auckland Region and assist our Site Traffic Management Supervisors (STMS) with setting up Temporary Traffic Management. With our main objective to ensure the safety of all road users including the general public, cyclists, pedestrians, work crews, your own traffic management crew and yourself.

*This is a permanent and full-time position working Monday to Friday including some weekend work and on-call shifts when required.*

You will also:

  • Help with setting up and removing the traffic management signs and the placement and removal of the cone placements
  • Help assist with the stop/go operation
  • Driver duties include backup driver for setting up and removing TTM closures
  • To assist with all other tasks to achieve well set out and compliant sites

About You

If you are a reliable, punctual and motivated individual with a positive attitude and are committed to a safety-first mindset, you will also have:

  • A Class 1 Full NZ license
  • A current Level 1 Basic Traffic Controllers Certificate or the new Traffic Management Operative warrant (TMO).  This is preferable but not essential.
  • A passion for working outdoors
  • Physically fit and self-motivated
  • Committed to working Monday to Friday and have the flexibility for the weekend and on-call shifts
  • Great communication and verbal skills to communicate through radio transmitters while operating stop/go and dealing with crews and the general public
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills,  ability to think on the spot and deal with unexpected and emergency incidents

The fine print

  • To be eligible for this position you must currently be living in NZ and have a legal right to work permanently in this country.
  • Candidates will be required to undergo Drug and Alcohol testing, medical and Ministry of Justice checks as a part of the recruitment process.
  • This is a permanent and full-time position working Monday to Friday 40 hours per week. Additional hours and flexibility are generally available.
