You will be working around some of the most beautiful landscapes that the rail has to offer, ensuring safe passage for trains through green asset maintenance.
Spray Unit Operator - Levin / Palmerston North & Dunedin
- Spraying, scrub cutting, small tree felling jobs, assisting the on-track spray operator when required
- Managing Vegetation along the rail corridor to maintain level crossing view of lines and rail infrastructure while ensuring Kiwirail meet its responsibilities under Bio-security legislation
- Following and understanding instructions given by leaders
- Reporting any problems found on the job to the Field Crew Leader/Project Manager regarding crew, equipment, and any operational improvements
- Cleaning of gear and equipment including vehicle fleet after use
- Operate and maintain a range of mobile plant, equipment and company vehicles
- Assist with the transportation, loading and unloading of machinery as required for sites
- Obtain good communication with the team, high proficiency in English is needed
Qualifications & Experience
- Full Class 2 with TW Drivers Licence preferred but not essential (full class 1 essential).
- First Aid Certificate preferred.
- Proven relevant experience in the delivery of vegetation management services is preferred but not necessary.
- Experience with 4WD off-road driving preferred.
- Willingness to learn and be a part of a safe work environment.
- Must be willing and able to work away from home on a regular basis ( accommodation and away allowance provided).
- Ability and willingness to work alone and self-manage tasks.
- Must be computer literate and be able to capture data on handheld devices.

- To be eligible for this position you must currently be living in NZ and have a legal right to work permanently in this country.
